The newly elected Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Nsibiet John, has expressed profound gratitude to the Union members for the overwhelming support throughout the electioneering process.

In a note of appreciation posted on his official Facebook page, Comrade John thanked the “good people” of the media community for the unanimous mandate given him and the SERVICE 2025 Team at the just concluded elections.

Comrade John described the trust and solidarity shown by the members as a “bold call to service,” which he and his team have heard “loud and clear.” “We do not take this honour for granted, rather we will ensure that we live up to expectations for the benefit and interest of the Union and the society at large” the chairman stated.

He further acknowledged that the campaign was built on hope, unity, and a shared vision, and he promised to lead with “purpose, passion, and results, while stressing that with the continued support of the members, the new administration is ready to build a union that “truly works for all, empowering, protecting, and advancing the interests of our people”.

The Chairman who described himself as a Chief Servant declared that this victory marks the beginning of a new era, outlining his key priorities to include: innovative leadership, improved welfare, stronger institutions, and sustainable professional growth for all members.
