In a strong statement of leadership, the Nsibiet John-led administration of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, has restored water facility at the Union’s Secretariat in Uyo.
Delivering two brand new 3,500 capacity water tanks, the Secretary of the Union, Comrade Nsikak Esenowo, revealed that the gesture is in fulfilment of the Service Team Campaign promises.
He further disclosed that the water facility is safe for consumption and will help ease the water needs which had hitherto been a challenge at Secretariat.
This development is yet another masterstroke in leadership under Comrade John since taking over the affairs of the Union earlier this month.
Barely a week after he took a tour of facilities within the Union, Comrade John has also restored the generating
plant at the Union, in addition to signing a deal with a software company for internet services to be provided to journalists free of charge.
The feeling around the union is that of excitement and optimism as the 556 votes given to the incumbent Chairman is proving to be a wise and a productive decision.
Vice Chairman of the Union, Comrade Margaret Moore and Comrade Wilson David of the Consolidated Chapel, were also on hand to take delivery of the water tanks.
