Afrobeats star Burna Boy has been urged by his mother and manager, Bose Ogulu, to consider getting married and having children.

Mrs. Ogulu made the remark during the singer’s 35th birthday celebration on Wednesday, July 2, in the presence of close friends and family.

In a video from the celebration shared on Snapchat by Burna Boy’s associate, Richie 7, the singer was asked to make a birthday wish.

“I wish for good health and prosperity,” Burna Boy said.

Responding, his mother encouraged him to expand his wish by adding, “Good wife and children.”

The light-hearted exchange has since attracted reactions from fans on social media.

Burna Boy has previously explained why he is yet to marry or have children, saying his demanding music career leaves him with little time to devote to family life.

In an earlier interview, the Grammy-winning singer said he does not want to have children outside marriage or become a father without being fully available to raise them.

According to him, he would rather wait until he is able to make the level of commitment he believes a family deserves.
