…….ADC shops for young Professional as State guber candidate
The trio of Senator John Udoedehe, Michael Bush and Emem Coffie are the early birds that have squared up against the return bid of the Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno.
Michael Bush has since picked his guber nomination form from the Labour Party while Senator Udoedehe has since become the sole candidate for the African Democratic Congress, ADC. Emem Coffie has teamed up with the PDP faction away from Nyesom Wike’s group.
As at last night, THE INK reporter was informed that all three early birds have insisted that Governor Eno must not return to the Hilltop Mansion as in their Judgement, the State Chief Executive was yet to meet up with the expectations of the people about three years after assuming office. But the Commissioner for Information Aniekan Umanah insists that the State Governor has done massively for the people in terms of Agriculture, Rural Development, Infrastructure, Security, Sports and Education.
Umanah emphasized that Akwa Ibommites are satisfied with what Governor Umo Eno represents and will be bold enough to massively return the Governor for a second term in office.
It could be recalled that of the three aspirants that have so far summoned courage to succeed Umo Eno, only Michael Bush is a new entrant into the Governorship race. It was learnt that Senator Udoedehe who comes to the Party with so much experience is determined to ensuring that he adopts a strategy that will catapult him to victory.
Coffie, who hails from Nsit Ubium with the Governor is said to be mobilizing round the clock and is expected to leverage on the grassroots appeal that he has to fast track his ambition. Meanwhile, it was gathered also that the NDC in Akwa Ibom State is shopping for a young Professional Akwa Ibomite to fly their party flag ahead of the governorship election.
The Chairman of the Party and few others have been mandated to begin and end the search before INEC closes its window of submission of names of Gubernatorial candidates.
